Camp Sports Specialist

Position Summary: The Camp Sports Specialist plans and leads age-appropriate sports and physical activity programming that promotes teamwork, skill development, and fun. This role supports daily camp programming through structured games and inclusive physical activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Plan and lead daily sports and physical activities
• Teach basic sport skills and rules in a positive, inclusive manner
• Modify games for different ages and abilities
• Ensure proper equipment use and safety
• Maintain an organized activity area and equipment inventory
• Support positive behavior management
• Assist with all-camp games and special events
• Follow all camp safety policies and procedures

• At least one year of experience as a senior counselor or specialty director at a licensed day or resident camp
• Experience working with children in a camp, recreation, or coaching setting
• Knowledge of basic sports and group games
• Ability to manage large groups and maintain safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Coaching, physical education, or recreation background
• First Aid / CPR (or willingness to obtain)
• Studying Physical Education, or holds degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Physical Education.
