Join Our Gymnastics Coaching Team!
The Westport Weston Family YMCA is seeking multiple dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our coaching staff! We are looking for coaches who can lead classes for all ages and skill levels, from our budding preschoolers to our advanced recreational gymnasts, as well as experienced coaches for our competitive team levels, including pre-team, compulsory (Levels 2-5), optional (Levels 6-9), and Xcel.

Our 11,000 square foot gymnastics facility is fully updated and equipped for all class and team needs.
About the Role:
We're looking for versatile coaches who can adapt their teaching style to various age groups and skill levels. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coaching a wide range of classes: From introductory preschool gymnastics (ages 3-5) to recreational and advanced-level classes for school-aged children and teens.
- Coaching competitive team levels: This includes pre-team, compulsory levels (2-5), optional levels (6-9), and Xcel.
- Implementing engaging lesson plans: Ensuring that classes are fun, challenging, and age-appropriate, focusing on skill progression and safety.
- Providing constructive feedback and encouragement: Helping gymnasts improve their technique, build confidence, and achieve their goals.
- Ensuring a safe environment: Adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining a well-organized space.
- Communicating effectively: Building positive relationships with gymnasts, parents, and fellow staff members.
Afternoon, evening, and weekend hours needed
Competitive pay rates, commensurate with experience
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience: Gymnastics background, experience working with children
- Competitive Team Coaching Experience: Demonstrated experience coaching competitive gymnastics
- Strong knowledge of gymnastics fundamentals: Including proper technique, progressions, and safety spotting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to connect with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude: A true passion for teaching and inspiring young athletes.
- Reliability and punctuality: A commitment to consistent attendance and preparedness.
