Description
Requirements:
- Qualified candidate is responsible for implementing a safe, positive environment for children participating in the Kids’ Club program
- Must have child care experience
- Candidate must be at least 16 years old or hold a high school diploma
- Have experience working with young children
- Have effective written and verbal communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of all children
- Communicate with parents about their child’s experience in Kids’ Club
- Ensure a proper staff to child ratio. This includes finding substitutes when out sick and staying in the Kids’ Club area until your staff replacement arrives for their shift
- Responsible for meeting all quality standards in the program area. Ensure the Director of Membership is notified of any safety or non-compliance issues
- Attend meetings or trainings as required
- Operate all programs with the safety of the participants in mind and abide by all applicable risk management policies
- Follow all Westport Weston Family YMCA policies and procedures
- Foster a positive team orientated environment, encouraging staff growth and development
- Be a positive role model for children and other staff
- Be sure the program area is kept clean and free from potential hazards
- Follow the YMCA’s behavior management policy. Focus on positive behaviors and helping children work through their difficulties
- Report any suspected cases of abuse and/or neglect to the Director of Membership immediately
- Other duties as required

- Ensuring maximum safety of all children and staff in the program
- Satisfaction among children and their parents participating in the program
